Since the addition required adding a shed dormer to almost the full length of the existing house some engineering and reframing work were required to re-support the roof of the old house. In addition to adding the shed dormer on the north side of the old house two new dormers where added to the south side of the old house. There were also two dormer built in the roof of the addition.
